Step 1: Click the Upload Questions tab and the Upload Questions page is displayed.
Step 2: Click the Question Upload Template link to download the Microsoft Excel sheet template. Follow the instructions on the sheet named "Instructions" in the template. The instructions are also listed below.
Using the Bulk Question Upload TemplateOpening the spreadsheet
This spreadsheet no longer requires the use of Macros. As of NexPort Campus v6.4, question bank spreadsheets can be uploaded directly.
About the spreadsheet:
This spreadsheet is organized into two worksheets. You are viewing the first tab (Instructions) now. The the second tab (Data) is where you should enter the actual data.
About the Example Questions:
Questions Section. The lower section of the Examples page holds the questions and answers for the exam. The column headings are Question Id, Question, Type, Response 1, Message 1, Response 2, Message 2, Response3, Message3, Response 4, Message 4, Response 5, Message 5 and Answer. Response Each row represents one exam question and the accompanying set of possible answers, plus the correct answer. Question Id represents the order in which the questions will appear. The Question Id has to be unique and is used when replacing existing questions.
In the Answer field, enter 1,2,3,4,5, etc. to indicate the correct answer (1 = Response 1, 2 = Response 2, etc.). Messages to accompany each response are optional. To indicate multople correct answers, separate them by commas. Ex: "1,3,5"
Hiding Question area and Open Ended Questions
If the ShowQuestion column is set to no then the question and response area will be not be displayed. Setting the ShowOpenEnded column to yes will display the open ended question text and allow the student to enter an answer."
Randomize Response Display Order
In order to randomize the display order of the responses add a column named Randomize and set the column value to yes. If no value is given then no is the default. "
Step 3: In the How to handle existing IDs section, do one of the following:
Click Replace, if a question in the existing question bank contains the same question ID as a question that you are now uploading.
The question added previously is overwritten with the question bearing the identical question ID in the uploaded file.
Click Skip to omit overwriting questions that have an identical question ID.
Step 4: Click Select File.
Step 5: The Open dialog box is displayed. Navigate and select the XML template.
Step 6: Click Open, the XML template is uploaded. A confirmation message that the XML template is uploaded successfully is displayed.
Step 7: Click Submit. The questions are uploaded in the question bank.
