# Apply Memberships Settings
You can assign membership to a group in the following ways:
> **Forced Membership:** In this group, the customers who redeem tickets from this batch become member of the selected groups.
>
> **Selectable Membership:** In this group, the customers who redeem tickets from this batch have the option to accept or decline the group membership invitation.
## **To apply membership settings**
**Step 1:** Click the **Membership Settings** tab.
**Step 2:** On the **Membership Settings** page, do one of the following:
> In the **Force Memberships** area, select the check box next to the group to which you need to assign the forced membership. The selected group is displayed in the **Selected Groups** column.

> or
>
> In the **Selectable Memberships** area, select the check box next to the group to which you provide the ability to choose membership. The selected group is displayed in the **Selected Groups** column.
