# Assign an Instructor

You can set the instructor as a primary instructor with special editing privileges for selected section. You can only have one primary instructor per section. Students can also see the name of the Primary Instructor in their classroom as well a list of all instructors for that classroom.

## **To assign an instructor**

Step 1: Click the **Instructors** tab.

Step 2: The **Instructors** page is displayed.

Step 3: In the **Add an Instructor** area, click the ![](/files/e6bqaw8G1pr6td9858NN) icon corresponding to the instructor to whom you need to assign as an instructor for the section.

Step 4: In the **Instructor** section, you can view the list of instructors is assigned to the section.

You can also search an instructor by typing the first few characters of the name of the instructor in the Search box, and then click **Submit**. NexPort Campus populates matching results.

## **To set the instructor as a primary instructor**

Step 1: Click the **Instructors** tab.

Step 2: The **Instructors** page is displayed.

Step 3: In the **Instructor** section, the assigned instructor is displayed.

Step 4: In the **Primary** column, click the ![](https://github.com/NexPort-Solutions/NexPort-Campus-Documentation/blob/gitbook/.gitbook/assets/Primary_Instructor.png) icon next to the instructor that you need to set an Instructor as primary instructor.

## To remove the assigned instructor:

Step 1: Click the **Instructors** tab.

Step 2: The **Instructors** page is displayed.

Step 3: In the **Instructor** section, the assigned instructor is displayed.

Step 4: In the column, click the ![](https://github.com/NexPort-Solutions/NexPort-Campus-Documentation/blob/gitbook/.gitbook/assets/Delete_Instructor.png) icon next to the instructor that you need remove from the list and revokes instructor privileges from that user.

Step 5: The user is displayed in the **Add an Instructor** area.
