Permissions refer to the rights assigned or granted by the System Administrator to a user or group to perform a set of operations. In context of Nexport Campus, there are various such permission categories, such as create bookshelves, edit catalogs, manage certificates, and other permissions. A role is a representative of assigned permissions. A role provides the means to assign multiple permissions to a user or group. In context of the NexPort Campus, Administrator, Instructor, and Student are roles.
After you have added users and subscribers, you must create roles by means of which you can grant permissions to users and groups.
You can add a new role. After adding a role, you can assign the role with permissions.
Step 1: Click Administration > Manage Campus > Organization Tools > Roles.
Step 2: In the Add a Role area, type the values, and then click Add.
Step 3: The role is added to the Role list.
You can assign one or more permissions for the selected role.
Step 1: Click Administration > Manage Campus > Organization Tools > Roles.
Step 2: The Roles page is displayed.

Step 5: Click Save.
Step 6: The permissions are granted to the role.

Step 2: The Permissions page is displayed.
Step 3: In the Grant a Role area, type the user’s name in the Find a User box, and then click Search.
Step 4: The matching search results are displayed.
Step 5: Select the check box next to the user to whom the role is to be assigned.
Step 6: In the Choose a Role list, select the role, and then click Grant.
Step 7: The role is assigned to the user.
You have configured roles and granted permissions to the role, and also assigned the role to a user. Now, you need to engage and connect with students by delivering content other than instructional content.
